April showers ...

A sewing project with the fabric pieces that I dyed few months ago.

I love patterns that I am able to create with running stitch.

Also tried weaving couple fruits. I do like the way they turned out. I have several of these small weaved pieces now. I thinking of putting them together in a fabric book. I don't know if I 'd be able to make it they way I imagine.  Will try :)

After a very long time....

I have not posted any of creative pieces for a quite long time. My camera battery stopped working and I was not able to fix the problem.  I kept postponing getting it fixed(specially with all Covid restrictions) and finally managed to get it work( i think)

I have been keeping busy with bit of creative work.

Gustav Klimt inspired

Henry Matisse's blue willow was the reference for this collage/applique.

Still life collage/applique

Another collage/applique "red scarf"

Couple of Modigliani art in running stitch

I do love, how the both ladies turned out. My eyes needed a rest after so many tiny stitches. And, I had got new glasses :)

I hope you are well and safe,

January 2021

I was able to finish my latest Modigliani inspired portrait. Other than that, I have not done much creative work.

Hoping that 2021 brings much needed relief from covid-19.

Wishing everyone a safe and a healthy new year!!

Bit of August..

August went by, I did couple of projects. Both had lots and lots of stitches :)

This portrait inspired by painting of  artist Amedeo Modigliani. I love his style of painting. This my attempt to create the same in a different medium. this measures approx. 8x12. It turned out better than I thought it would be. I have sketched few more to try.

Few things in July..

I did another embroidery piece, this is inspired by artist Henry Matisse's 'Woman with a Hat'.

July was extremely warm, which was also ideal weather for ciders/beers; couple of sketches I did while enjoying cider.

Left hand crochet : making a baby blanket for a friend.

Finally, after 10  months of sewing, I finished the scrap quilt. I am happy with my effort here.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend,

Things I did in June....

Inspiration and, my interpretation of Gustav Klimt - The Kiss

I am pleased with my effort here.

Two small collage/applique pieces.

as my guide for both, I used impressionist artist Claude Monet 's - Waterlilies and Glass with Peaches.

This again is my interpterion of the famous painting by Johannes Vermeer's  - The Girl with a Pearl Earing

What you think of it?

I still have one big project which is almost at its end. Hopefully I can be motived to finish it soon. :)
