Kantha stitched ..

saree quilt ...

The bright orange voile saree is one of my mother's, she has not worn it much and, is about 40 years old ;nor it is torn or discoloured. She gave it to me over a decade or so ago. I wanted to use up the saree without cutting too much and, thought that this way it would be used well.

I am using 3 layers of cotton saree material ; two of them are of the voile saree and, one is maroon coloured cotton with a design at one end.

The material has a fine line pattern in it, so I am trying my best to stitch long those lines to keep a straight line.

couple of crocheting projects ......

I have been crocheting the granny square for about six months or so now..and making a slow progress.

pumpkin blossom opened up and, was there for couple days ...

Crocheted Moccasins..

My first attempt on something other than blankets, shawls and scarves. I found this moccasin pattern via Pinterest.  You can find it here.

I used Bernat brand and no.4 hook. I don't think I followed the pattern exactly (the instructions weren't too clear for me). I made couple of  unravels before I finally made it. Even then it turned out big bigger than I wanted it to be. But now I know, if I make again what adjustments I should make.

Sunday morning walk........

church garden has its vegetables and flowers growing.

..... also spotted this chair on the side walk which had a lovely needlepoint worked flower panel

Completed wall quilt and our tea group meeting

So, I have finally completed the quilt.  All stitching is done on 3 layers of cotton fabric. (two of yellow and one white) I used a thicker needle so it would easy to pass the thread through 3 layers. There is no batting added to this piece, only the fabric layers.

I wonder how many thousands of little stitches are there.....

All fabric and thread used are remnants from here and there. I didn't buy anything new.

some beaded tassels too..
