A sewing project with the fabric pieces that I dyed few months ago.
I love patterns that I am able to create with running stitch.“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.” ~ Rumi

April showers ...
Quiet weekend
First day of spring ......
A very BIG thank you for all the front-line workers who are working tirelessly to keep us safe, at this critical time.
Past few days staying home from work, I had time to work on my creative pieces. I bought few tee shirts from the thrift store which I cut into strips, they add a different texture. I am also adding pieces of velvet, felt and other thick yarn.

A bit of darning...
My current sewing projects seems never ending, and I much needed a break from them, and this what I did; a small darning piece on jute/gunny sack.
On a recent visit to the thrift store, I also picked up two bags of colourful tapestry wool and I wanted to try something with them. And, this project seemed ideal for that.
Thank you for stopping by for a peek,

Darned !
Watermelon ... !!
This ripped piece of watermelon provided inspiration to start this darning project.
I used cotton thread from the $1[one dollar] store.
I wish, I used a lesser contrasting pink for the very top layer.
Thank you for taking time to stop by,
Until next time,

Darning - one picture at a time - 1
Inspiration for these projects were taken from the Stitch Magazine.
If you go here http://www.embroiderersguild.com/stitch/projects/darning/index.html you read about it.
I do like this magazine a lot, it carries various interesting projects that one can try.
This is the tutorial piece.
cuppa tea - I feel that in certain areas I used more tension on the thread.

tutorial work
I liked the technique, the texture and the pattern it created. So, I tried the following as well;
lonely tree - I am pleased with all the colours that I chose to darn this little tree. The problem I came across on this one was, that I sketched the drawing too closer to edge of the material and I could not get my embroidery frame to fit perfectly. Finally, I took it out and did the darning. [although I could have started another]
There's room for lots of improvement. I also, could not get the finishing as smoothly as I had it in my mind.
I am thinking of putting them in frames.
There's more coming...I have too many ideas but not enough time.
