It has been a long time ...

I have not uploaded any of my creative work for a long time. Since, I post my work on Instagram, I haven't been using the camera to take the photos to post on my blog.

Finally, I figured out how to upload photos from phone to blogger. :)  There's a quite a lot I can share... yay !

I have been experimenting with collage/torn paper art, and recently tried incorporating fabric to my mixed media art.

These are some of my recent attempts.

October creative makes ..

Weaved pumpkin ...

I started a new embroidery piece. It has made a little bit of progress.

Pittar Patter Raindrops; there were few rainy days in October, it inspired me to made this small piece.

Still working on my scarp quilt too

I also finished a crocheting project that I started about year ago.

Thank you for stopping by,

till next time,

Used tea bag..

crafts...

I did couple of projects before with used tea bags.  You can see them here and here. For, these pieces I used embroidery thread and, also bits of lace.

I quite enjoyed making these and, I have a whole stack to experiment with. These tea filters are  bit bigger than regular bags which I like, because it has space to work a pattern with more embellishments etc.

Have to be careful when working with such flimsy paper, I pricked my finger few times.. :)

Winter is just around the corner..

Thank you for stopping by for a peek,

till next post,

Wasteful Art !

When you  buy bread or certain times packaged vegetables [at the supermarket] the plastic bags they come in are secured with  these types of tabs. [may not be the correct word for it]

I have been collecting the tabs for awhile just to see how much of a plastic pile I can make.

While the collection grew, I had sketched few ideas how to use them. This is an experimental mixed media project. Apart from the tabs, I also incorporated used tea bags, scraps of fabric, and lots of acrylic paint.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself doing the project; but I do not know how well my idea is presented here.

This magazine was featured in many crochet blogs in the past month, and it did look interesting. So, when I saw it at the book store, I wanted to treat myself, and here's my copy. :)

It has a small crochet project included; yarn and a hook to make a snowflake.

The instructions are in UK terms. But it does have guide with all the abbreviations and US terms, in one of the back pages. I think I manged to get it fairly right. There was enough yarn to make two; the second one turned out bit smaller as I made the stitches more tight.

Let it snow ! let it snow !

I am taking little time off from work to visit my mother. My mother is turning 70 yrs. in couple days, and my grand mother(mother's mum), is turning 93 yrs. They both have their birthday on the same day.

I wish you all happy holidays and a peaceful 2014 !!!
See you in the new year..........

Thank you for taking time to stop by,

Mixed media ....

 ...Wall hanging

This is the completed project.

On a piece of canvas I pasted the back ground fabric, then added the crocheted flowers, and leaves cut out from felt sheets.

I added  running stitches to the leaves for variety.. ..then some fabric flowers, and decorated with buttons..

blues skies .... and real sunshine through the window :)

it measures approximately 12x58 inches. I am not able to show the whole piece in one shot; my camera is old and it does not have many features.

.... and I have just the wall to put this up.

Thank you for taking time to always stop by,

Until next time,

Mixed media .....

Part one - still planning...
Flowers, flowers everywhere !!

These flower ideas are from http://www.crochetgeek.com/ ,who demonstrates left hand instructions.

These are from a tutorial by Attic24 ; a very beautiful piece of  work. These ones did not turn out correct, there are missing/skipped stitches. Instructions are in UK terms and it is right hand. I gave my best left handed effort.... I think I will be able to get it right maybe after another fifty of them :)  Anyway, these imperfect ones are alright for my project.

The "african flower" is via a YouTube tutorial, they too are not yet correct.

I have read in blogs, those who are experienced in crocheting saying it is addictive. I did not realize until I started to learn. Yes, now I can feel it is kind of addictive, because I have been spending more time getting tangled and less time on my other creative work. :)

More blooming flowers to come....

Thank you for taking time to stop by,

Until next time,
