This Easter long weekend has given me extra time to spend on my creative work. I am glad that I don't have a wake up early, and no work on Monday :)

I spent most of today sketching on the IPAD.

I am experimenting ways to incorporate used tea bags in my creative work. This is my attempt to make a wind mobile. I used a layer of cotton, and had to do the stitching very carefully as the bags tend to tear very easily.

I stitched the same pattern on the both sides. They still need more grooming !

Cross stitch - book of needles..

Up until now my needles never had a proper place to stay; they were either pinned on a piece of cloth, or on cardboard. I have been promising myself to make something pretty for the needles for the longest time.

I got these tiny cross stitch pattern kits maybe 6-7 years ago from a family friend. I had started one but never completed. I recently stumbled upon them while sorting out the craft box.

This time I had patience to finish it to the end. Then used it in the design for this needle case.

I did however make few errors while sewing, because I counted the rows incorrectly. The instructions included are so small to read, that my eyes were hurting. Why didn't I make an enlarged copy at the beginning ?

Finally, my needles have a happy home now.. no more getting mixed up with the pins.

Tea cozy !!

for the perfect cup of tea...

I drink tea many times a day [more when I am at home] yet, I don't have a single cozy to keep my tea pot warm. So, after all these years I took the time to make one special tea cosy. By the time I was done there were three of them;

Here they are;
This is to all the ladies who work so hard in the tea plantations to pick the finest leaves for the perfect cup.

I used a piece of tea dyed cloth and did a bit back stitching and applique for a the sketch I did. I also had to find and match pieces from the bag of remnants.

This one is for all the hard labour that is put in to sorting and packing.

I unpicked and used this bag that came as a part of the packing Also included few used tea bags in the pattern. What about washing it? These bags will get ripped :( ok, I will hand wash carefully.

Lastly, over a cup of tea! This one, I will give to a friend.
