While waiting for spring..

I did finish my flower crochet throw. I spent most of the evenings working on it. It is not very large; approx. 36x56 inches.

As you know already, I do my crocheting using thrift-ed yarn; except when I make baby things, then I buy new from the store. Finally, when something is made out of all these odd n' ends, it does make me happy.

I tried much as possible to use yarn of similar colour and texture.  I didn't have enough green as same as flowers for the border, so I did use something little bulkier.

As soon as I finished (this morning) I wanted to take some pictures, and it is being very cold this weekend I had to do quickly before the sun hid behind the clouds. I think temperature was between -6c and -10c.

A little craft for the wall with the crochet flowers I made few weeks ago.

looking for signs for spring......

nothing yet...

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend,

thank you for stopping by for a little peek,

till next post,
Gaia

  1. your blanket is very pretty and will be so cosy to snuggle under in the winter. Broaches lovely too. Spring has sort of arrived here, daffodils, crocus and mini iris are out so hoping we will not get another cold spell. It was not gone below freeing much this winter fortunately and no snow yet

  2. Beautiful! The weather forecast says we're going to get hit by a snowstorm that will dump up to 25 cm of snow on Monday/Tuesday. Say it ain't so!

  3. What a pretty afghan you created from thrift store bits. It's good to have cozy things to do while we all wait for spring.

  4. The blanket is gorgeous Gaia! Love how you managed to make it all blend together so well with just thrifted yarn. You are one crafty gal ;) The 3-D flowers really add a nice dimension to it. I think the border in green looks so nice too. Well done! Stay warm the next couple of days ... hope the commute isn't too disrupted with the storm.
