So, after making the squares I joined them using the single crochet method. Again, I turned to YouTube for guidance and found several videos [right hand] on joining granny squares and after experimenting with slip stitch and single crochet, I liked SC better.
When it was all done I wanted to add a border, using the green yarn I added two rows of SC. I had to figure out how turn the corners.
Lastly, with the blue yarn I added another border of double crochet. I don't think I got it correctly because I feel that it has extra stitches than it should be; making it gather in certain places.
Yet, I am feeling quite happy about my accomplishment, because when I took upon to try something larger than a place mat; I did not think I would be able to do it. I really thought I would end up in a big tangled mess !
The only little sad part is, that there is no crochet expert that I know, to show my work and ask whether I have done it alright :) .......so what do you think??
Thank you for always stopping by,
Until next time,
xxx,
Gaia
I would say you have done a grand job, your blanket looks lovely
ReplyDeleteHi Gaia, I'm not a crochet expert but I have crocheted a few afghans and other things and I think your granny squares and edging and how you put it all together looks terrific! Congratulations on a job very well done :)
